MONSTER Saturday at Ranger Field
Updated: Oct 24, 2019
This weekend the Rangers host four matches on Saturday, with the Men's, Women's and Under 15s all suiting up, as well as the neutral Melbourne Uni vs Pakenham fixture.
Under 15's - 9am Rangers (2-0; 2nd) vs Buccaneers (3-0; 1st) The top of the table clash takes place first-up at Ranger Field, with the U15 two undefeated teams facing off. The Rangers have wins against the Wolves & Spartans, while the Bucs have knocked off the Spartans twice, and also toppled the Wolves. This match up will set the stage for the race to the top of the ladder through the rest of the regular season.
Men's - 10:30am Melbourne Uni (6-0; 2nd) vs Pakenham Silverbacks (1-6; 11th) This is likely to be a lopsided battle, but for the sake of the fans sticking around all day, let's hope the Silverbacks can put up some fight.
Women's - 2:00pm Rangers (0-1; 4th) vs Raiders (3-0; 1st) The Rangers women had a very tough start last week in their season opener, and things aren't about to get any easier in week 2. The Rangers will be looking to bounce back and re-establish themselves among the leagues elite with a showing against the undefeated pace-setters in the Northern Raiders. Expect plenty of passing and not a lot of punting from the Raiders which should make for an exciting battle.
Men's - 5:30pm Rangers (4-2; 5th) vs Falcons (3-3; 7th) Despite falling last week to the league-leading Crusaders, the Rangers put in a solid performance and will be looking to return to the winners circle against the up and coming Falcons team. With this game kicking off at 530pm (the night before daylight savings) it is bound to finish under lights, so why not head down for a beer and Ranger Burger dinner and a great evening of football - the weather is looking good too!
As usual, the canteen will be open "siren to siren" and the bar will be open from midday. Don your green, and be sure to get on down to Ranger Field for what should be a great atmosphere all day.
