Rangers Win U15 VicBowl III
The Croydon Rangers Under 15 Team made it 2 championships in 3 seasons on Sunday, defeating the Geelong Buccaneers in VicBowl III, becoming the first two time winners in the youngest of GV competitions.
Despite giving up the first score of the game, the Rangers piled on 30 unanswered points, eventually emerging with a 30-12 win. Quarterback Ben Heath threw four touchdown passes; two to Joseph Nilsson and one each to Dylan Hellier and Ethan Thomas. Hellier was also outstanding in the run game, with Peter Andonopoulos and the rest of the Offensive line paving the way for him in a great rushing and blocking performance.
On defense, Thomas, Chris Pincus, and Bailey Myers were relentless in their pursuit of the ball carrier, routinely making tackles for loss and pass breakups, completely dismantling the Buccaneer attack.
At the conclusion of the game, Joseph Nilsson was awarded the League MVP for his efforts throughout the season, while Ben Heath took out the league's Offensive MVP and VicBowl MVP honors.
The club is extremely proud of all of our players' efforts, and with these young Rangers leading the way the future of the club looks extremely bright.
