I guess you could say I’m the inspiration for the team. I lead by example and my own personal ethos ‘strive to be your best’ is the message I try to convey to the team through my actions and disciplined training regime. I am what you might call a sort of hero to the boys, they really look up to me. The coach Mark Fairweather is constantly consulting me about a range of club matters. I don’t know what I will do if I get another early call on a Tuesday about how I can improve his training program for that night. I always tell him he can start with his wardrobe, you don’t need to be Carson from ‘Queer Eye’ to know that a green tracksuit and orange beanie just don’t go. Where’s the fashion police when you need them?
