Rangers young sensation James Dall commits to US Junior College
It is with great pride that the Jetmaster Heat & Glo Croydon Rangers can announce that the Stuart Thompson Landscapes Colts team captain James “Speedy” Dall has signed his intention to commit to the Junior College, Garden City “Broncbusters”, based in Kansas City, Missouri.
James has been picked up as a Wide Receiver but is hoping to offer more than just his ability to catch when he lands in June. James has played as a Cornerback, Kicker, Punter and even Quarterback at Colts level, and Wide Receiver and Kicker/ Punter in the Gridiron Victoria Senior competition.
James was one of three Croydon Rangers to participate in the 2016 state trip to Singapore, where he was praised by State Head Coach Robert Smith. James is one of three Australian teenagers that have targeted by the college. Garden City has a solid football program and a reputation for nurturing players that graduate to NCAA College programs, and even have NFL players among their alumni.
The Garden City Broncbusters were undefeated last season, taking out the NJCAA Championship against Arizona Western College, under the guidance of Veteran coach Jeff Simms. Coach Simm’s has had notable success, turning over 32 Athletes to the NFL including Jason Pierre-Paul (New York Giants) and Lavonte David (Tampa Bay Buccaneers). Notable Alumni from the school include Tyreek Hill (Kansas City Chiefs) and Phillip Loadholt Jnr (Minnesota Vikings).
When asked James obviously couldn’t contain his elation. “I’m still shocked to be honest; I seriously can’t put it words. It’s still such a foreign idea to me”.
On the other hand, Croydon Rangers Colts Head Coach Taran Marston, who has coached James since he first took up the sport, found it far less unexpected. “Since the end of his first season, James has expressed his desire to pursue his career to end up in the States. He’s worked hard both at training with the Croydon Rangers and also in the gym to get himself physically ready. This isn’t a lucky break, this is just hard work coming to fruition.”
James packs his bags in June and the Croydon Rangers wish him all the best in his pursuits overseas.
