2011 Junior Training

Article updated

2011 Junior Season training has started, at our ground in Springfield Avenue Croydon.

Juniors train Tuesday and Thursday nights, 6:30 – 8:30 and also Sunday mornings from 10am – 12 noon.

To be eligible to play in the Gridiron Victoria Junior competition you need to be 14 years old before the start of the season and under 18 at the 1st of Jan 2011. All equipment and uniforms can be provided by the Croydon Rangers to keep costs down for our players.

Last year our juniors won all but one game en route to winning the 2010 Junior Vic Bowl.

Junior Rangers win Vic Bowl

Now, who wouldn’t want to be part of a winning team?

We encourage anyone and everyone who is interested in playing junior gridiron this year (and their parents!) to come along, meet with players, the coaching staff and club officials.

We will explain what is involved in playing, the rules and requirements and give you the opportunity to throw a ball around and try on some gear.

Season 2011

The 2011 season will kick off late September and run 8 weeks plus a 2 week finals campaign. We will have more information in the next few weeks.

If you have any questions, please contact the Rangers.

The team helped the boys celebrate with a 53-0 win over the division 2 leading Northern Raiders.

Who was the 300th player to represent the Rangers?

Article updated

The Croydon Rangers are the oldest original member of Gridiron in Victoria.

We have the longest serving player in the state (and probably the country) in Tom Kinloch with 260 games.

We are now into our 27th year.

And we have now had 300 senior players represent the club and wear the Ranger green.

Who was our 300th senior player?

Linebacker Dan Stewart! (Click the picture)
